Updated 3 November 2026

DayZ's Central Economy can spawn survivors the same way it spawns cars: as an event at fixed spots, wearing what cfgspawnabletypes.xml gives them. Law's KillFeed writes those three files for you from a page on the dashboard, so you can stand a guard at your trader, a bandit at a military base or a body to loot, without a mod.

Set it up

  1. Open NPCs in your server's settings on the dashboard.
  2. Pick a survivor model. The page loads the gear your server already gives that model.
  3. Dress it with the loadout editor: worn items per slot, what goes inside them, and carried items. It checks what fits where.
  4. Place it on the map, or where a player last stood, with its facing and, if needed, the altitude. One NPC can stand at several spots.
  5. Save and restart the server. The NPCs appear after the restart.

Good to know

  • Gear belongs to the survivor model, so each model can be one NPC per server; to have the same NPC in more places, give it more spots.
  • A killed or cleaned-up NPC comes back fresh, like any Central Economy event.
  • Survivor events you made by hand (or with the old /event add) can be imported, so the page manages them too.
  • Players can kill and loot them. Their deaths show in the Custom NPC Kills feed.
  • The free plan has 2 NPCs with 3 spots each; the paid plan up to 31 NPCs, one per vanilla survivor model, with 25 spots each.
  • The bot edits the files as text and keeps everything else in them as it was.

Questions

Do they walk around or shoot?

They are DayZ's own survivor characters spawned by the Central Economy: they stand where you put them. For AI that moves and fights, PC servers use mods such as Expansion AI.

Why don't I see them?

They spawn at the next restart. The NPCs page shows an error on the NPC when an upload failed or the server runs another map.

Does it work on PC?

Yes, on Nitrado and on PC servers with an FTP, SFTP or panel link.
