Load two versions of types.xml, for example the vanilla file and your server's, and see every item that was added, removed or changed, field by field. It works for PC, Xbox and PlayStation files and runs entirely in your browser.

Added: only in After. Removed: only in Before. For usage, value and tag, + is a name the After file adds and − one it drops. Copy summary copies the changes shown as plain text.
Listed more than once
These names have more than one <type> entry in the same file. Keep one of each. The compare uses the first entry.

Why compare two types.xml files
types.xml lists every item the central economy (CE) spawns, and the vanilla file has a few thousand entries. Finding what changed by eye is slow. Common reasons to compare:
- After a DayZ update
- Updates can add items and change values in the vanilla
types.xml. Put your server's file in Before and the new vanilla file in After to find the new items to add and the values that moved. - Against vanilla
- Put the vanilla file in Before and yours in After to see every change you or an earlier admin made.
- Between two servers
- Compare the loot of two servers, or of a test server and your live one, before you copy settings across.
- Before you upload
- Check an edited file against the one on the server, so you upload only the changes you meant to make.
An item that shows as removed has no entry any more, so the CE does not spawn it, unless another types file registered in cfgeconomycore.xml lists it.
Get both files from Nitrado
- Open the file browser in the Nitrado web interface and go to your mission's
dbfolder. On Xbox that isdayzxb_missions/dayzOffline.chernarusplus/db, on PlayStationdayzps_missions/dayzOffline.chernarusplus/db. Livonia usesdayzOffline.enochand SakhaldayzOffline.sakhal. - Download
types.xml. For a second server, download the same file from itsdbfolder. - For the vanilla file, Bohemia Interactive publishes the mission files in its
DayZ-Central-Economyrepository on GitHub. Each map's folder hastypes.xmlin itsdbfolder. - Open one file as Before and the other as After. To apply a change, edit the file in the types.xml editor, upload it and restart the server.
What the compare checks
Items are matched by name, ignoring upper and lower case. For every item in both files, these fields are compared:
- nominal
- How many should be on the map.
- min
- When fewer are left, the CE spawns more (back up to nominal).
- lifetime
- Seconds an item lies untouched before it is cleaned up.
- restock
- Seconds to wait before spawning more once below min (0 = at once).
- quantmin
- Lowest fill in % for items with a quantity (ammo, liquids). -1 = not used.
- quantmax
- Highest fill in %. -1 = not used.
- cost
- Spawn priority. The vanilla files use 100 for almost everything.
- flags
- Which copies count towards nominal: in containers (count_in_cargo), in tents, barrels and stashes (count_in_hoarder), on the map (count_in_map) and on players (count_in_player). crafted marks items players make, deloot marks loot from dynamic events such as helicopter crashes. Each flag is compared on its own.
- category
- The loot category, such as weapons, tools, clothes, food or explosives.
- usage
- The kind of place it spawns in, such as Military, Police, Farm, Industrial or Town.
- value
- The map tiers it spawns in, Tier1 near the coast to Tier4 deep inland, or Unique.
- tag
- The spot inside a building, such as floor, shelves or ground.
usage, value and tag are compared as sets. Their order does not matter, only which names were added or dropped.
On Xbox and PlayStation servers running Law's KillFeed, the dashboard's Server Files page opens, checks and uploads files for you and keeps the last 15 versions of every file, so you can download the version from before a change and compare it here. Editing in place is on the paid plan.
Questions
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The compare runs in your browser. Both files are read on your own device and never sent to our server.
Does the order of the items matter?
No. Items are matched by name, ignoring upper and lower case, so moving entries around does not count as a change. Spacing, comments and the order of attributes are ignored too.
What does it mean when an item is listed twice?
The file has two <type> entries with the same name. Keep one and delete the other. The compare uses the first entry it finds.
Can I compare a custom or modded types file?
Yes. Any file that starts with <types> works, such as a custom types file registered in cfgeconomycore.xml. Modded items show by their class name like any other item.
Does this work for Xbox and PlayStation servers?
Yes. Console servers on Nitrado use the same types.xml format as PC. Download the files from Nitrado's file browser and open them here.
