The bot already reads your server's admin log every couple of minutes. The Developer API lets other tools use that data too: a roleplay bot, a stats site or your own Discord bot can read the raw log lines, or ready-made events for kills, hits, deaths, connections and building.
Developers register an app at dayzbot.com/developers, and our staff check it before it goes live. Server owners then turn the app on for their server and choose what it may read. An app only sees servers that turned it on, and only what was logged after that.
The API docs cover endpoints, cursors, webhooks and examples.
FreeFree plan
- Free for developers
- Owners turn apps on for free and paid servers alike
- REST, webhooks, 120 requests per minute per app
What you get
Approved apps
Our staff review each app before it gets a token. Up to 5 apps per account.
Owners decide
Server owners turn each app on per server and pick raw logs, parsed events or both. Turning it off removes access straight away.
Raw logs
Every admin log line with its time, in order.
Parsed events
Kills, hits, other damage, deaths, knockouts, wake-ups, logins, logouts, building and positions as JSON, filtered by type or player.
Webhooks
Get each new batch posted to your HTTPS endpoint, signed with HMAC-SHA256, instead of polling.
Simple auth
One bearer token per app, shown once and stored only as a hash. 120 requests a minute per app, with cursors for paging.

Set it up
- Log in with Discord and register your app: a name, what it does, and a webhook URL if you want one.
- Once staff approve it, create your API token on the app's page.
- Ask server owners to turn your app on: in the dashboard, on their server's Apps page.
- Call
/api/v1/serversto see which servers you can read, then fetch their logs or events. The docs have examples.
Questions
Does it cost anything?
No. The API is free for developers, and owners can turn apps on for free and paid servers alike.
Can an app change anything on the server?
No. The API only reads logs and events. It can't restart, ban or edit anything.
How far back can an app read?
Only what was logged after the owner turned the app on. Each server keeps about the newest 20,000 entries.
What happens if my webhook is down?
After 100 failed deliveries in a row the webhook is switched off. Turn it back on from your app page; the REST API still has the entries.
Works well with
Server Logs
PvE deaths, connections with combat-log checks, and a build log with location links.
Live Map
A web map of players, kills, fights and building you can share with players, plus a step-by-step player tracker for staff.
