Open the events.xml from your mission's db folder, or start from Bohemia's vanilla file, and change vehicles, helicopter crashes, animals and infected event by event. Switch events on and off, scale a whole group at once and edit what each one spawns. Every field is explained and checked before you download.

What events.xml controls

Loot comes from types.xml, but vehicles, helicopter crashes, police cars, animals and infected come from events.xml in the mission's db folder. Each event says how many should exist, how long they last and what spawns with them. Where a fixed event can appear is set in cfgeventspawns.xml, and objects that spawn together as one scene in cfgeventgroups.xml.

Every field explained

nominal Nominal
How many the economy aims to keep spawned.
min Min
Fewest at once (counts when limit is parent or mixed).
max Max
Most at once (counts when limit is parent or mixed).
lifetime Lifetime
In seconds.
restock Restock
Seconds to wait before spawning again (0 = no wait).
saferadius Safe radius
Metres: never spawns this close to a player.
distanceradius Distance
Metres between two spawns of this event.
cleanupradius Cleanup radius
Metres: not cleaned up while a player is this close.
position Position
fixed: the spots in cfgeventspawns.xml. player: near players. uniform: anywhere on the map.
limit Limit
Which min/max count: child (each child type), parent (the whole event), mixed (both) or custom.
active Active
Off: the event does not spawn.
remove_damaged Remove damaged
Ruined spawns are removed.
children What it spawns
Each <child> is one type the event can spawn, with its own min and max, and lootmin and lootmax for the loot spawned with it.

Edit events.xml on a Nitrado server

  1. Stop the server and open the file browser in the Nitrado web interface. Go to your mission's db folder: dayzxb_missions/dayzOffline.chernarusplus/db on Xbox, dayzps_missions/… on PlayStation. Livonia uses dayzOffline.enoch and Sakhal dayzOffline.sakhal.
  2. Download events.xml and keep an untouched copy.
  3. Open it here and make your changes.
  4. Download the edited file, upload it over the old one and start the server.

On Xbox and PlayStation servers running Law's KillFeed, the dashboard's Server Files page opens, checks and uploads events.xml for you and keeps the last 15 versions of every file; its easy editor is on the paid plan.

Questions

How do I get more cars on my server?

Raise nominal on the vehicle events, or filter on Vehicles and use "Multiply nominal". Vehicles are fixed events, so they also need free positions in cfgeventspawns.xml: an event can't spawn more often than it has places to go. Restart after you upload.

How do I turn off helicopter crashes?

Untick Active on the helicopter crash event (StaticHeliCrash in the vanilla file), download the file, upload it and restart.

What do min and max mean on an event?

The fewest and most of the event at once. Whether they count for the whole event, each child type or both depends on limit: parent, child or mixed.

What are the children?

What the event spawns, such as each car model or the animals of a herd, with their own min, max and the loot spawned with them (lootmin and lootmax).

Is my events.xml uploaded anywhere?

No. The editor runs in your browser and your file never leaves your device. The vanilla buttons load Bohemia's file straight from their public GitHub repository.

Does this work for Xbox and PlayStation servers?

Yes. Console servers on Nitrado use the same events.xml format as PC. It is in the db folder of your mission.
