Law's KillFeed started on Nitrado, where it reads your server through Nitrado's API. A DayZ PC server can be anywhere though: G-Portal, GTX Gaming, another game host, or self-hosted on a VPS or a machine in your house. For those, the bot connects through a server link instead: our server-side mod, our Link App, BattlEye RCon, FTP / SFTP or a Pterodactyl / Pelican panel.
Once a server is linked you get the same bot as everyone else: the kill feed and every other feed, stats, leaderboards, the economy, the trader shop, zones and moderation, all from Discord.
The ways to connect
- Server mod (@PCBotBridge): runs on the server only, so players download nothing. Sends the admin log as it happens and lets the bot kick, ban, message players, restart the server and spawn items. Needs no other mod.
- Link App: a small Windows program that runs next to the server, for a machine you control. Sends the logs, opens and saves server files, starts, stops and restarts the server, and starts it again after a crash.
- BattlEye RCon: kicks, bans, in-game messages and restarts, with the RCon port and password from BEServer_x64.cfg.
- FTP, FTPS or SFTP: the admin log (the bot downloads only what is new) and the mission files, for the trader,
/loot, events and cfggameplay.json. - Pterodactyl / Pelican panel: files, the admin log, the server's status and start, stop and restart, with a client API key.
Use as many as you like: for each job the bot picks a link that can do it and skips one that is down. On a rented server, the server mod plus FTP covers everything. On your own machine, the Link App plus the server mod does.
Add the server
- Add the bot to your Discord with the Add to Discord button below.
- Log in to the dashboard on dayzbot.com with Discord and open Add Server.
- Open "PC server on another host (not Nitrado)", type the server's name, pick the map and the player slots, and press Add PC server.
- Connect it on the Server Links page that opens next: each kind of link has its own install steps there.
- Run
/installin your Discord to make the feed channels.
Install the server mod
- Download the mod, ready to use on Server Links: a zip with @PCBotBridge and its config.json with your server's key already filled in.
- Upload @PCBotBridge next to DayZServer_x64.exe, and the PCBotBridge folder into the profile folder, where the .ADM and .RPT logs are.
- Add
-serverMod=@PCBotBridgeto the server's launch parameters. Use -serverMod=, never -mod=, or every player would have to download it. Keep -adminlog on too. - Start the server. Server Links shows the mod as connected within a few seconds.
When a new version comes out, Server Links shows an Update mod button. With an FTP or SFTP link on the server, the bot uploads the new version and swaps it in at a restart.
What works on a linked PC server
- The kill feed, PvE deaths, connections, the build log and every other feed, plus stats and leaderboards.
- Trader orders that spawn the moment they are bought with the server mod: in the buyer's inventory when they are online, else at their drop point. No restart needed.
- Ban list, whitelist and priority by gamertag, Steam64 or DayZ id; timed bans lift themselves.
/server restart,/server stopand auto start, with in-game warnings 30, 15, 10, 5, 3, 2 and 1 minutes before an automated restart./loot,/server messages, events and the cfggameplay.json settings over your file link.- Mod Management: every Workshop mod on the server, missing keys copied in one click, mods older than the Workshop flagged, and settings pages for Expansion AI, Moving AI Convoy and Lockable Starter Shed.
- The Status page checks every link and the log downloads.
